Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 28:9
When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured.
O-bservation:
St. Paul, now a prisoner, sailed under guard toward Rome with 275 other shipmates. They hit a terrible storm and were shipwrecked on the Island of Malta. Because of Paul’s “Prayer of Faith,” all 276 of them swam to shore safely. Once there, Paul was taken to the house of the head of the Island, the Roman leader Publius. His father was sick and Paul prayed for him and he was healed. Once the word got out, all of the “SICK” of the island came to Paul and he healed them through prayer and faith in Jesus.
A-pplication:
As one reads the New Testament, it’s apparent that other than evangelism the “Soul Motivation” of each of the Apostles was to … “Just Be A Blessing.” Here was their approach. If someone is dead, raise them from the dead. If someone is blind, pray and give them back their sight. If someone is crippled, heal their legs. If someone is battling the powers of sin and darkness, pray for them to be set free. If people are in financial need, receive offerings from other “Followers of Jesus” and take it to them. In other words, “Just Be A Blessing.” We’re not called as individuals to singlehandedly change the world, but we are called to accomplish the impossible that is at hand! Jesus, the original “Servant Leader,” set the bar for service in such a way that all of us can … “Just Be A Blessing!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
It’s my desire this AM to leave my place of prayer in a moment and look for ways throughout the day that I can … “Just Be A Blessing!” Amen
