Jesus, Is The Narrow Door

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 13:24
Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

O-bservation:

Jesus’ disciples had just asked him if there would only be a few people who are saved? Jesus said that the door into eternal salvation was narrow, and anyone wanting to be saved would have to go through that narrow door.

A-pplication:

The King James Version of the Bible uses the word STRIVE instead of “Make Every Effort.” Because of that, and the Greek rendering here most historic commentators talk about the hard efforts on our part as people wanting eternal life that we will have to do in order to gain salvation. But- and I know I’ll get in trouble here- I believe that “Jesus Is The Narrow Gate!” Salvation is not a result of more works that we do. Even today, only about a third of the world claim to follow Christ. Think of the billions who thus far have missed the Narrow Gate, into eternal life! The scripture says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” Remember, “Jesus Is The Narrow Gate!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,
This morning I choose YOU as the Narrow Gate to salvation. I’ll leave the biblical commentators to argue that point. With your help, I’m not changing. Amen
