Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Jeremiah 18:6
He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
O-bservation:
The Lord led His Prophet, Jeremiah, to take a trip to the “Potter’s House.” Jeremiah watched a potter take marred clay into his hand and make the clay into something beautiful on the spinning potter’s wheel. Then the Lord asked Jeremiah, “If a potter can do a makeover like that with a piece of clay, don’t you think I can do the same with Israel, the nation?”
A-pplication:
I would like to bring this passage a little closer to home this AM. If God can make a whole nation over, then certainly God can make a person over. Nations are made up of people. Nations can’t change unless people’s individual hearts are changed by the “Love of Jesus.” As a Father, I was always more interested in forgiving my Sons and showing them Grace than I ever was about disciplining them. “Wait ‘til I get my hands on YOU” was never a threat to my sons, rather it was my offer to them to get up on my “Potter’s Wheel” and help remake certain areas of their lives. If you’ve been marred by life in some way … “Jesus, Can Make YOU Over.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I don’t ever want to get off of Your “Potter’s Wheel,” or for You to take your hands off of me. Every day I need a “Makeover!” Amen
Comment (1)
As I renew my mind each day in prayers and meditation, I know that God has to create in me a pure heart. I mostly need a new start to make the day. It is like when I fall, He picks me up gently to place me back on track. He is patient and kind!
