Jesus Always Wins

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 17:17a

For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled.

O-bservation:

This is a wild part of John the Beloved’s vision in the Revelation. He saw what was referred to as the “whore of Babylon” being routed by the Lord. Many have questioned who this “whore of Babylon” is. Many thought it was an actual city, but others believed it to be a religious system here on earth. There certainly are enough indicators to believe that. Whoever this mystery whore is, it certainly isn’t a single woman. Certain ones will fight against this “whore of Babylon” and bring her down during the period of the seven years of tribulation. The reason being is that this passage tells us that God Himself will put it in their hearts to destroy her in order to “ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSES!”

A-pplication:

Whenever I read this passage, I think “Jesus Always Wins.” Now that’s not true when it comes to our eternal salvation. Scripture has said that God has predestined all of us to follow hard after Him and enter into eternal life (Rom. 8:28-30). At the same time, because we were given a free will, unlike the animals, we can opt out of what God has planned for us. But beyond that, “Jesus Always Wins.” You can see that in John’s vision called the Revelation. When it looked like there was no getting over this religious system known as the “whore of Babylon,” God had already put it in their hearts to accomplish His will and they weren’t even aware of it. I don’t want to confuse you. This is a difficult passage in Scripture to get one’s arms around; however, it is important to know that God ALWAYS has everything under control. If your life is in His hands this AM, no matter what you’re experiencing right now, you will come out of it victorious because “Jesus Always Wins!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking You this AM to help me over what is coming against me. I have placed my life wholeheartedly into Your care and keeping. Consequently, I KNOW You will see me through. Amen
