All The Praise, All The Time

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 Second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 5:13b

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

O-bservation:

When John the Beloved, the author of the Revelation, caught a vision of heaven, he saw the Almighty sitting on the throne and to his right Jesus, the Lamb Of God. All inhabitants of the earth, on land and in the sea, and the inhabitants of heaven, were giving Jesus “All The Praise, All The Time.”

A-pplication:

The question will always be who or what is our highest object of praise? When you read here what John saw in heaven, the highest object of praise in the heavenlies is Jesus. All of it is “other worldly” and “mystical” and I get that, but remember we are eternal beings. We didn’t just arrive into time and space with a free moral will to make choices that help or destroy others accidentally. And, this is not about the “survival of the fittest” when it comes to humans. We will all live forever. Either eternally blessed or eternally rejected. I know, I know, it’s all something people don’t want to talk about, but today we must. Your eternal destination is dependent upon the one being in heaven, Jesus. Is He your continual object of worship? He is the only one who deserves “All The Praise, All The Time.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Sometimes I’m tempted to put my praise into things and positions and men and women of high honor on this side of heaven. Help me to remember that only YOU deserve “All The Praise, All The Time.” Amen
