Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Chronicles 13:3
Let us bring the ark of our God back to us, for we did not inquire of it during the reign of Saul.
O-bservation:
Approximately seven years after the death of King Saul, David asked the leaders of Israel if they thought it wise to return the Ark of God from the house of Saul’s son Abinadab. They agreed it was time. David said, “Then let’s do it because we never even asked about it during Saul’s reign.”
A-pplication:
Somehow King Saul was unimpressed with the presence of God in his life. If we’re not careful we can operate as though we’re the ones making things happen. Nothing can be further from the truth. As “Followers Of Jesus,” we live in desperation for the presence of God in our lives daily. As David was preparing to move the capital of Israel to Jerusalem, which became known as the City of David, he must have prayed to the Lord one day and said, “I’ve Got To Get YOU Into My Life.” He had to have the Ark back. Until the day Jesus says my time is up I want to live with a constant desperation for the Lord that says, “I’ve Got To Get YOU Into My Life.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Please stay with me! Amen
