Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 65:3
When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.
O-bservation:
Like you and me, David was a sinner. And it was always in David’s mind that God was his “Forgiver of sins.” He could never shake that thought, and so he was continually thankful to God for sins forgiven.
A-pplication:
It is imperative that we, as “Followers of Jesus,” stay in a constant state of gratefulness to our God. Without the forgiveness of sins we would be in a constant state of guilt, chained to our past failures. Without the forgiveness of Jesus our perpetual state of mind would be one of, “I can’t change. I’m a sinner.” Without the forgiveness of sins, the future would be clouded. How can you dream future dreams when you’re buried by last night’s nightmares? These are only a few of the reasons we should live in an overcoming thought process of gratefulness to our Blessed Savior. This ongoing thankful heart will no doubt bring much joy and happiness. Our thinking will say, “I am redeemed, I am forgiven, Jesus did what I couldn’t do and He did it for me.” Can you say it with me? “Thank You for Your joy today, oh Lord. I can’t stop being excited.” When someone asks you today, “What’s Up?” Respond by saying … “I’m Just So Happy To Be Forgiven.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Today I come to You with a thankful heart that You have forgiven my sins. May my joy and happiness reflect Your love to those around me. Amen
