Hurry Up

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 9:4

As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

O-bservation:

Jesus was referring to what He would tell His disciples before He would leave the planet by way of His ascension back to heaven (Acts 1:9). He would tell them our life’s work until He (Jesus) returns for us. He told us in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and the Holy Spirit. And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

A-pplication:

So there you have it. Every Christians life mission from Jesus himself. How are you do with that? I’m not sure any of us wake up each day with the first thought being, “How can I reach someone today for Jesus and disciple them?” Why? Usually, I think it’s about the fact that most of us think … “We’ll get around to it!” But often, we never do. I’m not sure why, but as I read the passage from John 9 this AM, the first thought I had was, “Rich, you had better Hurry Up!” Why? Because I feel like the clock is ticking down to the end of the world as we know it. Jesus is coming soon, and the night is coming when no man or woman can obey Matthew 28:18-19 again. So what if this was the year that Jesus is coming back? What would change in your life? Well, I’m sure lots would change, but the one thing I know has to change in my life is simply this, I must “Hurry Up” and get the word out to people who need the Lord.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m committed this AM to “Hurry Up” my soul-winning approaches to people who need You, Lord. I don’t want to give up one soul because of personal laziness. I will “Hurry Up!” Amen
