He’s ALWAYS Faithful

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 12:1

Help Lord, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.

O-bservation:

King David had hit a low stretch in his leadership, and from his vantage point No One he knew was faithful! In a massive overstatement, in a “Fit of Surrender”—as in I give up—David said, “All loyal people have vanished from the face of the earth!”

A-pplication:

Whenever you take your eyes off of Jesus and focus them on people instead, people will always let you down. But David was out of his mind to say what he did. What about his “37 Mighty Men,” who did exploits for David? Books have been written for hundreds of years on the loyalty of these men towards David. But once again, life can throw so many challenges at us at one time that it’s possible to lose sight of our Savior. When that happens, we also lose sight of those who have stood with us in our darkest hour. I’m reminded of Elijah, who pretty much gave up at one point in his life and said, “I’m the last Man of God alive!” But God replied, “I have 7,000 who have not bowed a knee to Baal” (1 Kings 19:18). What if David was right? What if Elijah was right? Here’s where they were both wrong … God has never failed any of us!!! One day, David woke up and wrote, “Your faithfulness endures to all generations” (Ps. 119:90a). “He’s ALWAYS Faithful!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

It’s not true all the time, but some of the time people turn their backs on me. That’s why I will not focus as much on people again today. I will turn my focus and attention on You. You have never failed me! Amen
