Heavens Lock and Key

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 3:7b

What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

O-bservation:

Through “John the Revelator,” Jesus prophetically addressed each of the 7 Churches of Asia Minor. One of those churches was the church at Philadelphia. Jesus said to that church, “I hold the key of David.” He was referring to the fact that He was of the lineage of King David. He said, “When I open something no one can shut it, and when I close something no one can open it.”

A-pplication:

When you feel directed by Jesus to do something, you can be sure that He will open doors to make it happen for you. And when the Lord opens a door for you, “No One” can shut it! No lawyer, no doctor, no banker, and no family member can shut a door that Jesus opens for you. On the other hand, if you have been trying to make something happen that just won’t happen, perhaps you’ve been trying to kick a door in that God has shut! Because when Jesus shuts a door … No one can open it! That means … no lawyer, no doctor, no banker, no family member, and not even YOU can open a door that Jesus has shut! HE IS … “Heaven’s Lock and Key.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking You to show me the “Open Door” today. I don’t want to keep kicking on doors that You have shut. Amen
