Heart, Conscience, and Faith

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Tim. 1:5

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

O-bservation:

As a “Follower of Jesus,” all commands that any of us give to one another must have an end result of LOVE. This love must emanate from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

A-pplication:

A pure heart translates into this one thought … “No hidden agendas.” Certainly you’ve heard that line before, “I love you”; but in hearing it from a certain individual you had the thought, “I wonder what they’re after?” Real love demands a PURE HEART. The scripture also says this love is a result of a “Good Conscience.” A good conscience keeps everything morally balanced in your life. A good conscience helps you sleep well at night. However, when one’s own conscience has been crossed, it’s as if all the balance that keeps you in right standing with YOURSELF has left. Love must result from a GOOD CONSCIENCE. Finally, love demands that I have a “Sincere Faith.” The word sincere is a polar opposite to cynicism. None of the love Jesus displayed came from anywhere other than a sincere faith in His Father and faith for people to change. Love emanates from a SINCERE FAITH. When it comes to LOVE, it’s all about “Heart, Conscience, and Faith.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I know that my commands to those I meet must result from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. Help me this AM to follow Your Lead. Amen
