Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 26:8
When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelek king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah.
O-bservation:
Here’s the story … Isaac had asked the King of the Philistines, Abimelek, if he and his family could live in their land. He also told Abimelek that his wife Rebekah was his sister, fearing the King would kill him if he knew she was Isaac’s wife. But one day Abimelek looked out of his palace window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah. It completely blew Isaac’s cover. Fortunately, Abimelek had mercy on Isaac for having lied to him and let Isaac and his family stay in Gerar, the King’s headquarters.
A-pplication:
“It’s Hard To Hide Love!” I’m not trying to copy Bryan Adams or anything, I’m just saying if you really love someone “It’s Hard To Hide Love!” As a man married for a little under 100 years now, I’ve learned that there are more ways of showing my wife I love her than those that occur in the privacy of our bedroom. The marriage union between a man and a woman is an earthly picture of what our spiritual marriage to Jesus should look like. If you talk to me for more than 5 or 10 minutes, the name Robyn will come up. I just can’t hide her! I hope the name Jesus comes up as well. I believe it does. Because … “It’s Hard To Hide Love!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, as I’m reminded of Your great love and grace towards me, I’m letting You know it’s not a ONE WAY relationship! I love You Jesus, and I just can’t hide it! Amen
