Get Out Of The Middle!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Kings 18:21

Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing.

O-bservation:

Israel was under siege, but not to a foreign enemy. They were under siege to the Lord God of the Universe. God’s Prophet, Elijah, had declared a drought three years earlier. It got so bad that the King was looking for a place where a spring had not dried up and the grass was green so that he could feed and water his animals. Israel’s problem was that sometimes they wanted God and sometimes they wanted Baal. They were stuck in the middle. Elijah called together the prophets of Baal and the people of Israel and asked, “How long will you go back and forth between God and Baal? How long will you stay stuck in the middle?”

A-pplication:

A person or a nation who has lost their ability to make a decision is doomed. Those who would try and serve both God and this world will fail miserably. Families, Businesses, Universities, Governments, and in some cases even Churches, self-destruct over being stuck in the middle. The issue will always be, are you a “Follower of Jesus” or a “Follower of This World?” Just like in the day Elijah questioned these Prophets of Baal, I believe there is a sound from heaven even this AM asking you and I … “How long will you waver between two opinions?” We can’t put it off another day. It’s time to decide. “Get Out of The Middle!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Once again this AM I fully commit myself to Your will and way. With Your help, I will always RUN from the middle into Your arms! Amen
