S. O. A. P.
Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Mark 11:25
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone forgive them, so that your father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
O-bservation:
These words of our Lord are a directive not an option. Furthermore, they make perfect sense. The Lord says … “If you are in need of heavenly forgiveness but are holding unforgiveness towards someone else, that’s a problem. Stop what you’re doing and go and ‘Forgive First,’ the person you hold unforgiveness toward, then come back and your Heavenly Father will forgive you.”
A-pplication:
Waiting keeps everything in limbo. When you wait to say, “I love you,” others wait too. When you wait to pay your bills, others have to come after you. When you wait to take the trash out, others can’t stand to be with you. When you wait to see the doctor, others will have to take care of you in time. But when you wait to forgive, God must wait too! No one is “Big Enough” for “LIFE” to wait on. And certainly this God-given principle is presented to keep us from a myriad of problems. Every selfish act we make is like the stone that is cast into the lake. Eventually the ripple effect touches the entire lake. Don’t wait for bitterness to fester … instead … “Forgive First!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I ask today that You would help me not to delay forgiving others. With Your help I won’t wait. Amen
