Dressed To Serve

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 12:37

It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.

O-bservation:

Jesus spoke to His disciples to be on guard against greed. But more importantly be on the lookout for your Master, Jesus. He will be dressed as a “Servant Leader” and will want to sit at the table and ask you to lay back and then will wait on you for your own personal needs in order to serve your desires.

A-pplication:

You can usually spot people at a party and their respective roles. You have those who have come in order to Be Seen. For some reason, whether they’ve done anything to serve the needy or not, they usually come in order to Show Up. Others come to try and put a temporary fix on people’s long standing problems by passing out $20 bills like candy, thinking somehow the problem can be bought and done away with. Then, always, there’s a group of folks at the gala event who are, “Dressed To Serve.” They ask people to take a seat and recline, and while at the table they serve their every need. Jesus said, “look for me, I’ll be … ‘Dressed To Serve.’ It’s My joy to take the load off of you and put the load right back on Me.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’ve got my serving clothes on. I’m “Dressed To Serve” and I want Your people and my friends to know that I’m NOBODY but a Servant of Almighty God! And … What joy I have this AM! Amen
