Don’t Let SALVATION Bore You

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 51:12

Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

O-bservation:

This verse comes from a famous chapter in Psalm where David, in writing, “Confesses” and “Repents” before the Lord of his sin with Bathsheba. He was so penitent that it didn’t matter to him that the whole world would have access to his woeful act for all of history. It was imperative in David’s plea that the Holy Spirit would not be taken from him, and that the “Joy of His Salvation” would be returned to him. He wanted it to be just like it was at the beginning.

A-pplication:

So often the reason we mortals sin is because we have become BORED with LIVING. The “Same Old, Same Old” creeps in and surrounds us with an “Enslavement to the Routine.” There is a piece of us that is labeled “Danger,” and if it is not dealt with it will crave the Sensual, the Unrestrained, and the “Out of Bounds” territory no “Follower of Jesus” should be traveling in. It is in those times that the “Joy of Our Salvation” seems a million miles away. Yet the price and sacrifice that Jesus paid for our freedom from the unrestrained living that brings death should be at the forefront of everything we think and do. The sheer joy of knowing that we are free and delivered from an “Out Of Bounds” way of living must be what drives us each day! My friend, “Don’t Let SALVATION Bore You!” Remember, that very JOY is what gives us strength.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

How very Thankful and Joyful I am this AM, that I’ve been set free and made clean by Your SALVATION. Amen
