Don’t Assume Anything

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Samuel 7:12

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

O-bservation:

Samuel, the Prophet and Priest of Israel, was not known as a warrior even though for many years Israel subdued and defeated the Philistines under his leadership. On one such occasion, after victory, Samuel placed a stone on the location and said, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

A-pplication:

It’s natural to assume that because we are “Followers of Jesus,” and because we have been through victories in the past, the Lord will always give us victory. BUT … what I’ve learned is that if there is Faith for the day, there will be Strength for the day. If we decide, on the other hand, to move out of the Realm of Faith and into the World of Assumption, things can quickly go sideways. Sampson did that and lost his Vision, his Strength, and his Influence. “Don’t Assume Anything!” Like Samuel, I often go to bed at night and pray … “Thank You Lord, You helped me through another day.” When Samuel placed that stone that day and said, “Thus far the Lord has helped us,” he was saying to Israel … “Don’t Assume Anything!” Just keep moving and operating in the “Realm of Faith.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I ask You to help me operate in the Realm of Faith and away from the World of Assumption … AGAIN! Amen

    Dear Pastor Rich,

I want to thank you for these wonderful AM devotionals, particularly today’s . I may not always read them in the morning, I still look and find my inspiration of the day in each one. May the Lord continue blessing you and you family for your work in His kingdom.
