Doing It For Jesus

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 25:40

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

O-bservation:

Jesus alerts all of “His Followers” to the fact that in order to serve Him we must serve the hungry and those who thirst. We must serve strangers who feel alone and clothe those who have no clothes. We must visit the sick and the prisoner. And when we do, we are serving Jesus.

A-pplication:

Often, it’s the “Basic Things” that have never changed in history that we fail to do. We build great buildings. We lead large crowds of people. In some cases we’re known as people with great influence. And all of that is good. But who are we doing it for? Jesus spelled out these very basic activities that may go unnoticed by most, but are certainly not unnoticed by Jesus. Jesus gives us a simple plan right here. He says, “Do you know when you’re doing it for Me? When you feed the hungry and give a cup of cold water to the thirsty, you’re doing it for Me. When you take a stranger in and when you clothe the needy and when you visit those in prison, that’s when you’re doing Me service.” Wow! I read that and realize today that it’s time for me to get back to … “Doing It For Jesus.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

It’s so easy when I watch others to get away from true service unto You. Today, help me get back to … “Doing it for You Lord.” Amen
