His Divine Natural

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Peter 1:4

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

O-bservation:

The Apostle Peter told us in verse three that God’s divine power has been given to all “Followers of Jesus” so we have everything we need to live a life pleasing to the Lord. It is because of this that Peter said we can literally participate in God’s divine nature, or “His Divine Natural.”

A-pplication:

Is it possible that you and I can love the Lord and be so overwhelmed by His Goodness and Grace that it becomes natural for us to live for Him? Could it be so natural for us to live for Jesus that sin would be unnatural? At this stage of life I don’t believe we can ever live away from sin, but perhaps we can fly above it. Not in an arrogant way, but in a way that we’re so caught up with Jesus that we are participants in “His Divine Natural.” Before I was a “Follower of Jesus,” it was natural for me to Sin and occasionally I would do good. Now that I’m a “Follower of Jesus,” it’s natural for me to do Good and occasionally I mess up. But who’s counting? What has happened to me? I’m a partaker in … “His Divine Natural.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m aware of the change in what is natural for me. It used to be natural for me to sin. Now, because of Your Grace, it’s not. I thank You for “Your Divine Natural” that has taken me over. Amen
