Believing In Jesus = Eternal Life

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 23:42
Then he said, “Jesus , remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

O-bservation:

The first words of this passage were offered by the thief on the cross who was crucified next to Jesus. The other thief had all but cursed Jesus, but this thief lectured the other and said “This man has done nothing wrong.” Then he asked Jesus, in his way, for salvation. Jesus simply told him, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

A-pplication:

This short story illustrates the difference between Christianity and Judaism or any other religion. All religions have what I call “A LIST.” The list includes its “do’s and don’ts” but Christianity has one item on “Our List,” and it is the word “BELIEVE.” As in “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31) This man on the cross had no time to repent. He didn’t have time to show the world he was changed by keeping “A List,” because he was dying. All he had time for, was BELIEVING. And when he believed, Jesus in effect said, “I’ll see you in heaven.” I’m not saying we believe and then live like the devil, NO! What I am asking is simply, do you believe in Jesus? Because, “Believing In Jesus = Eternal Life!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,
The day I began believing in You my life got better. From the beginning you showed me how to live through your written WORD and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, but it was the believing that set me on my heavenly journey. Amen
