Who Is Your Beginning?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

O-bservation:

The opening words of John’s Gospel say that in the beginning Jesus (The Word) was with God (The Father) and that Jesus was God at the same time. To an unbeliever it’s very troubling, but to those who are “Followers of Jesus” it is the foundation upon which we stand. That fact is why we as a people of faith believe that everything begins with Jesus.

A-pplication:

We all had a beginning, and for sure our mother was there at the beginning. However, there is a deeper question as it relates to your life as a whole. “Who Is Your Beginning?” Where are the plans for your life located? Who is helping you construct your life? When a building is under construction and there is trouble halfway through, the contractor always goes back to the plans and calls the architect. It’s an easy metaphor. God made us and gave us the plans (His Word) before we were ever formed in our mother’s womb. He’s the architect. If there’s trouble brewing, remind yourself of WHO your real Beginning is.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You are my Beginning AND You are my Ending. This AM, I am reminding myself that I want You to handle everything in between as well! Amen

I woke up with the memory stained by an action dream. I however knew that my day was not the prolongation of a night but a new one with the renewing of my mind in prayers and meditation. The beginning of the day is as the beginning of my life, planned and laid ahead for me by my God who loves me and died for me.
