Where Is Your Attention?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 16:8

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

O-bservation:

Kind David of Israel probably fought more battles than any of us have knowledge of. Most of the time he won. He said, “I’ve always got my eyes on the Lord, that’s how I can handle every situation.” In other words, David gave his attention fully to the Lord, and because of it his faith for victory and overcoming every obstacle was unparalleled.

A-pplication:

When a corporation is on the brink of bankruptcy, you can usually trace the initial problems back to an issue of distraction. When a marriage that once knew vitality and love and romance ends up in divorce court, you can usually retrace the problem to distraction, away from each other and on to problems or other people. When we find ourselves losing intimacy with Jesus, what’s the issue? The issue is usually “Our Focus!” I know in my own life, unless I make Jesus the central focus of my day, everyday, I quickly begin operating as if I’m the one who makes things happen around here. At that point, fear takes the place of faith! Today, I encourage you to stop everything, right now. Look to Jesus and say, “Lord, today I’m recalibrating my attention off of me and back onto YOU!” Purpose in your heart to make this happen and I guarantee “FAITH” will overwhelm your fear! “Where Is Your Attention?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Once again this AM, I want to affirm to You that I will not allow my attention on You to fall prey to distraction! I want “My Faith” to drive the fear at my door so far away you’d have to get on a plane to find it! And I promise, I won’t go looking for fear. Amen
