S. O. A. P.
Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 114:7
Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
O-bservation:
King David recalls the Exodus of his people, Israel, out of Egypt’s bondage. He reminds us that when God’s timing called for their release, nothing could hold them captive. Two bodies of water split and the mountains shook. Water came out of a rock to quench their thirst. Even today, the earth itself trembles in fear at the whisper of our great God. So why should we be afraid? Our Heavenly Father has called us the “Apple of His Eye.”
A-pplication:
Fear is probably the number one determining factor as to why people are stuck in a given place. Some are stuck in a relationship they know is bad for them. Some are stuck in a job that’s holding them back. Still others are stuck in a line of thinking that says … “This is all I was ever meant to be.” The truth is God birthed you and me for “MORE!” Much more than we could ever think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20, paraphrase). After all, if the very earth itself trembles at the sound of God’s voice, and the elements of the universe are subject to His every command, is it not so that today your Heavenly Father has a will and a way just for you? You may be saying … But Rich I’m afraid! “Afraid Of What?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know that where You call me You will provide for me. I’m reminded that Your mercies are NEW every AM, so my faith is too! Today I am believing for “MORE.” Amen
