Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 1:2

When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.”

O-bservation:

Jehovah God had become so worn out with the continual idolatry of His beloved Israel that He told Hosea the Prophet to marry a promiscuous woman in order to illustrate God’s unending love for harlot Israel.

A-pplication:

Throughout the years, and the countless times I’ve read this passage, I always have the same immediate thought: “You’ve Got To Be Kidding!” God loved Israel so much that He wanted to get her attention. He asked one of His most trusted prophets to do the unthinkable, marry a promiscuous party girl. By not only putting up with her adultery, but loving her in spite of it, Hosea illustrated the unfathomable love and grace of our precious Lord. Certainly Hosea is the man he was purported to be, because when God asked him to do it he certainly didn’t say “You’ve Got To Be Kidding.”

Dear Jesus,

This AM, once again I’ve been reminded that if You call me to do it, You’ll get me through it! Amen
