Your OPEN Door

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 3:8

I know your deeds. See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name!

O-bservation:

Philadelphia, the city, was located in Asia Minor long before the city of the same name was founded in Pennsylvania. It housed one of the seven churches Jesus addressed in the book of “The Revelation.” Concerning this church, Jesus said … “I’ll give you an Open Door that ‘I’ control. I’ve watched you. You’ve kept My Word and not denied my name. I know you’re worn out, but at this point the Open Door is yours if you want it.

A-pplication:

Reading this right now, you may feel like the people of the church in Philadelphia 2,000 years ago. You’re Worn Out! No one really knows you. You’ve never been applauded because of your outstanding talent or expertise. Maybe you have felt like moving into retirement and walking away. But I’ve got news for you. God’s been watching you. Sure you’re not perfect. Join the club. But God says, “You’ve kept My Word and you have refused to deny that you’re a Follower of Jesus.” So that door that has been closed for so long … God says, “I’ve opened it. It’s YOURS if YOU want it.” So my question to you today is …What will YOU do with “Your OPEN Door?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I understood today that, for the reasons mentioned above, You have opened a door for me. With Your help I will gather the strength to walk through it. I’m kind of thinking what’s the point of someone else taking what you’ve opened for me. Amen
