Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Exodus 3:21
And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed.
O-bservation:
For 430 years (Ex. 12:41), the Hebrews were strangers in the foreign land of Egypt. The Lord told Abraham the same in (Gen. 15:13). Not all of those years were years of slavery, but before it ended God told Moses, “I’m going to get you and my people out of their slavery to the Egyptians, and when I do … ‘You Won’t Leave Empty-Handed!’”
A-pplication:
God keeps His PROMISES! Whatever kind of hard thing YOU feel YOU have been living under, God is preparing to release YOU from it, and when He does … “You Won’t Leave Empty-Handed!” That promise was for the Israelites then and it’s for YOU today. However, it is predicated on this one component. Have YOU faithfully cried to the Lord to relieve you from this burden of affliction? (Ex. 3:9). It was because the Israelites just wouldn’t quit imploring the Lord that He miraculously delivered them from their oppressors. And when they left Egypt, the Bible says, “They plundered the Egyptians!” (Ex. 12:36b). And so will you … “You Won’t Leave Empty-Handed!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
May I always remember that You have not forgotten me and that You and You alone are my source. Thank You that my hands are full. Amen
