Who Are You Going To Call On?
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Chronicles 13:18
The Israelites were subdued on that occasion, and the people of Judah were victorious because they relied on the Lord, the God of their ancestors.
O-bservation:
Earlier, God’s anointing had left Jeroboam, whom He had wanted to use like He had used King David. Instead, Jeroboam rebelled. He was leading the ten northern tribes of Israel when King Abijah of Judah lined up to fight him. Abijah had 400,000 warriors and Jeroboam had 800,000 warriors. Abijah stood on top of a mountain and begged the Israelites to come back to their historic God and stop their rebellion, but they attacked Judah from the rear. At this point, Abijah and all of Judah called on the name of the Lord and sounded the battle cry. God came down and routed the Israelite army. That day 500,000 Israeli warriors were slain, and Israel and Judah remained at peace for ten years. That day the army of Judah, only half the size of the Israeli army, subdued their foes because they called on the name of the Lord, the God of their ancestors.
A-pplication:
As the enemy of our soul moves in to attack you from all sides today, I want to ask you a question. “Who Are You Going To Call On?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I am once again calling upon You for my salvation and help. Unlike Jeroboam, I have not prepared golden calves to call upon, nor do I lean on my own understanding of this situation. Instead oh Lord, I’m calling upon You to save and rescue me one more time. Amen
