What You’ve Done Before, Please Do It Again
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Habakkuk 3:2
Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
O-bservation:
The people of Judah in Habakkuk’s day were on the brink of destruction. The people of Babylon were on the march, and certainly Judah was in harm’s way. Here Habakkuk begs the Lord to see the miracles he had heard about in history performed in his day. In effect he was praying, “Lord, What You’ve Done Before, Please Do It Again.”
A-pplication:
Have you ever asked God to perform something great, like you had heard He did in history? Or what about someone who had a present-day miracle, and because you know them and heard them testify you know it’s true. When you’ve witnessed something like that, have you ever said “Lord, What You’ve Done Before, Please Do It Again?” I know I have. To be real honest, I’ve actually had God work miracles on my family’s behalf. In fact, if God had not given us a continual series of miraculous interventions we certainly wouldn’t be alive today. God really is real. Like the old song says, “He’s the same God today as He was way back then.” So today, why not join with Habakkuk and me and just pray, “Lord, What You’ve Done Before, Please Do It Again!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know You Have Your timing for things to work out, but things sure are heating up on my end. Please Jesus, “What You’ve Done Before, Please Do It Again.” Amen
