What About My MANY THINGS?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Luke 10:41

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things.”

Martha was preparing the meeting place and the meal that Jesus and His associates would enjoy. While she was doing this, her sister, Mary, was sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening to Him teach. Martha got upset that her sister was listening to Jesus while she was working. When asked by Martha why this was being allowed, Jesus said, “You’re worried and upset about MANY THINGS. But there’s one thing that is the best thing, and that’s what your sister is doing.”

Whenever I read this passage, I’m inevitably struck with a glaring question that always comes back to me. “What About My MANY THINGS?” This short, almost unnoticeable passage always nails me. I have so MANY THINGS other than sitting at the feet of Jesus and hearing Him speak to me that this verse is an indictment towards me. It’s never about Martha when I read it; it’s always about Rich! The MANY THINGS layer daily onto our brains until worry and doubt begin to build up. That, in turn, impacts our stomach and the acid therein. Eventually, there is a physical breakdown because of MANY THINGS. But if you and I will sit at the feet of Jesus every day, the MANY THINGS become more than manageable, and life becomes a privilege and a joy. Make sure you deal with the MANY THINGS before the MANY THINGS do you in.

Dear Jesus,

Even before this day gets going, I want to lay the Many Things at your feet and then sit at your feet and hear you speak to me. Whenever I do this, my Many Things become Your No Things. Here I am at your feet this AM. Amen

I don’t want to be a Martha. I know I have too many times. I want to always be a Mary chosen what is mostly needed first that I may always please my Father God. Here I am at your feet Lord Jesus thanking for speaking to me because you said you would. Thanks Pastor Rich you are a great Servant/Leader example of follow me as I follow Christ.

Love you all my Sisters and Brothers
