Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 9:7a

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.

O-bservation:

The Prophet Isaiah had just pronounced the future birth of Jesus, the Son of God. In so doing, he added … His government will be so great and fueled by peace that “There’ll Be NO End To It!”

A-pplication:

Can you believe that over 2,700 years ago this Prophet, Isaiah, saw what we are experiencing today? He said the Kingdom of Jesus would know no end. Think about that. He was a Prophet of the Lord. He had a wife and kids and saw things that no one else saw. In time, Jewish history tells us he was sawed in half by the most wicked king in Judah’s history, King Manasseh. None of us living in the most prosperous nation in modern times have ever had to face a President who had leading ministers slain. And yet, with all the ease, what are we predicting in our time? Sometimes it feels like hardly any of us can see into the future except to hope for more ease. In the midst of such strife and eventual martyrdom, the great Prophet said “I see the King of Kings coming, and when He does His government will be so extensive There’ll Be NO End To It!”

Dear Jesus,

Help me care more for people’s need for HOPE than I do for my own well being. Amen
