Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
O-bservation:
King David, by this time, had been to hell and back as it related to his rise to power. And his continual warring during that time to keep Israel the world power of his day meant he had faced many “Times of Trouble.” During those times, David had found that God is the “REFUGE” all of us can run to, but even beyond that, God is always the help we need to “Break the Back of Trouble.”
A-pplication:
So many tend to run to the refuge of someone’s “Concern” when they’re in trouble. And they hear them say … “Oh I feel that with you, that’s just terrible!” Others run to the refuge of someone’s “Compassion” and hear them say … “I’ll always love you through it all!” And of course these are good, but both of these are temporary relief measures while the trouble rages on. What King David had learned was that when he ran to “God Almighty” as his refuge, he found the one who would break the back of the trouble he was facing! God did it for David and he’ll do it for you today. He is … “The Trouble Breaker.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You today that I have found concern and compassion when I run to You. But most of all, in my time of trouble, You have been “My Trouble Breaker.” Amen
