The Sign of Surrender

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 63:4

I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

O-bservation:

In a moment of euphoric spiritual joy and thanksgiving, David prayed to the Lord. He said, “As long as I live I will praise Your name. And when I do, I will lift up my hands in Your name.”

A-pplication:

I’m sure you’ve seen an old movie here and there where someone was being held up with a gun. The guy with the gun always says, “Stick ‘em up!” Of course whoever is being robbed quickly raises their hands as a sign of surrender. In effect they’re saying, “Here take everything I got. Take it all. Take me too, whatever you want, I surrender all!” If you and I are true “Followers Of Jesus” today, please remember He’s the GOOD GUY! But perhaps we should be quick to listen. When we do we may hear Jesus whisper, “Stick Em Up!” At that point it’s up to us to flash … “The Sign Of Surrender.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You already know me. I’m not that good of a guy, but … ever since I’ve known You I’ve had my hands up. Amen
