The First Will Be Last

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Mark 10:31 (NIV)
But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Jesus overturned societal expectations by teaching that the Kingdom of God operates on different principles than the world. Those who are considered first in the eyes of society may find themselves last in God’s kingdom, and vice versa. Jesus emphasizes the importance of humility and servanthood, challenging His followers to reevaluate their priorities and attitudes.

This passage challenges me to examine my own attitude and value in light of God’s kingdom principles. It prompts me to cultivate humility and servanthood, seeking to prioritize others above myself. I am called to resist the temptation to seek status or recognition in the eyes of the world and instead focus on serving God and others with sincerity and humility.

Dear Jesus,
Teach me to prioritize serving others above myself and seek to honor you in all that I do. Amen
