S-cripture:

2 Kings 9:2

When you get there, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi. Go to him, get him away from his companions and take him into an inner room.

O-bservation:

These are the words of Elisha to one of the members of the school of the prophets. He wanted him to run to Ramoth Gilead and find Jehu, one of the Israeli generals, and pull him away from his warrior friends into an inner room, or secret place, separate from the rest and anoint him as the new King Of Israel.

A-pplication:

Throughout my life, I’ve discovered that “The Anointing Comes In The Secret Place.” When the anointing of the Lord comes upon a person in the secret place, when they enter a public place, the people will recognize it. Jehu has been chosen by God to take out the wicked sons of Ahab and his wife, Jezebel. When the runner approached Jehu, he said, “I need to speak to you in the inner room.” The prophet runner led Jehu into the inner room and anointed him with oil and then immediately ran back to Elisha to report. When Jehu re-entered the room where the other generals sat, they asked him what had happened. He said the prophet had anointed him will oil to be king, and immediately the generals laid their claims at his feet and blew the trumpet and proclaimed, “Jehu Is King.” Jehu proceeded to do exactly as the Lord had commanded him. He slew Ahab’s offspring Joram and Ahaziah as well as his wicked wife, Jezebel. In time the entire wicked family of Ahab was cut off by King Jehu. But it all started in the secret place. If you want a fresh touch of the Lord on your life, it’s time to come away with Him into the secret place and find His anointing. Soon everyone will recognize you’ve been with Jesus.
