Since When Is The Man Of God Your Enemy?
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Kings 21:20 Ahab said to Elijah, "So you have found me my enemy." "I have found you," he answered, "because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord."O-bservation:
Ahab was the wicked king of Israel. Yet he knew Elijah well, and he knew that Elijah would be on his trail should he rebel against the Lord. He rebelled anyway. Remember, this is the same Elijah who had faced off with Ahab before. Elijah had called for a three-year drought in Israel because of their waywardness, and it happened. He had the prophets of Baal slaughtered when he called fire out of heaven on Mt Carmel. This infuriated Ahab's witch wife, Jezebel. But now, Ahab had wanted a vineyard which belonged to one of his constituents named Naboth. However, Naboth wouldn't sell it to him. Ahab went home crying like a baby. His wife Jezebel had Naboth killed so Ahab could have Naboth's vineyard. God told Elijah to visit Ahab and tell him that his days were numbered. When Elijah showed up at the king's door, the king said, "So you have found me my enemy!"A-pplication:
"Since When Is The Man Of God Your Enemy?" That's the most logical response to this king's statement. Don't you want to be a leader who yields to the God of the universe who created you and everything in the universe? It would seem intelligent to follow that God and his earthly spokesperson. Yet, when your heart is so puffed up with pride and self-absorption as was Ahab's, you may actually believe that you can compete on some level with that God! That was Ahab's downfall. In time Elijah's prophecies came to pass, and Ahab and his witch wife came to an end. I can tell you this, the man or the woman of God will never be my enemy.P-rayer:
Dear Jesus, I only want to do your will this AM. When I read this passage of scripture, my first thought was what fools Ahab, and his wicked wife were. I don't want to ever be in competition with you, dear Lord. I'm totally yours to yield to whatever you have for me. Amen

Remember Who Is Carrying Your Good Word
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Peter 1:21
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
O-bservation:
The Apostle Peter gives more understanding concerning the ministry of the prophet. He said prophecy has no origin in human will, but that people were carried along by the Holy Spirit in order to speak the oracles of God.A-pplication:
There appear to be at least two kinds of prophecies in the Bible that most believers are aware of. There is the prophecy to an individual from a God-ordained prophet that tells a person something he or she may or may not know about themselves that brings conviction and sometimes destruction upon that person. A case in point would be the prophet Daniel prophesying to Belshazzar that his kingdom would fall that night, and it did. Only God could give that word to Daniel, and only the Holy Spirit could strengthen him to prophesy the word. The other kind of prophecy is the prophet who sees a victory in a person’s future that the person, when they hear it, ends up spending the rest of their life running towards it until it occurs. The best New Testament example is Jesus prophesying to and directing His disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone. It was something they were encouraged to do. Once again, the prophets were enabled to prophesy because they were carried by the Holy Spirit. Always “Remember Who Is Carrying Your Good Word.”P-rayer:
Dear Jesus, I’m asking You to carry me to spread prophetic encouragement to everyone I meet today. Amen

By The Power Of The Spirit, Things Change
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 1:76
And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
O-bservation:
This is just one short part of Zechariah’s prophecy over his infant son John the Baptist. Scripture says in verse 67 that Zechariah was filled with the Spirit, and then he prophesied an incredible word over his newborn son that indeed came to pass.A-pplication:
What a change came over this old man, Zechariah. I say that because sometime earlier the angel of the Lord had prophesied that he and his wife Elizabeth would conceive and bear a son who would run ahead of the Lord Jesus to prepare the way of the Lord. When Zechariah heard this, he doubted and reminded the angel how old he was. The angel said, “Because you doubted the word of the Lord, you will have your ability to speak taken away from you until the baby is born.” That’s exactly what happened. But Zechariah and Elizabeth did conceive, and the child was born. At that point, the Holy Spirit came on Zechariah, and he began to prophesy with his actual voice. Everything he prophesied about his son John the Baptist came to pass. The power of this story is simply, “By The Power Of The Spirit Things Change.”P-rayer:
Dear Jesus, This AM, as I pray and as my friend reads this prayer, may they be reminded all day long today, no matter what obstacle it is that they are facing, that “By The Power Of The Spirit Things Change.” Amen
