He Brought You Out From Something

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 26:8 So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders.

O-bservation:

Here Moses recounts how the Lord brought the enslaved Israelis out of Egypt with divine terror and signs and wonders.

A-pplication:

We are living in the 21st century, and for those of us living in the western world we are living in freedom for the most part. But each and every one of us have had our issues with being in some kind of bondage to sin. If, like me, you are a "Follower of Jesus, then it's true that Jesus didn't bring you out of slavery in Egypt. But truly "He Brought You Out From Something." Maybe it was an abusive relationship, maybe it was a personal addiction that was life controlling. Perhaps the Lord brought you out of a terminal disease or tremendous poverty. But the truth is, because of the Lord's great love and mercy, "He Brought You Out From Something."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I'm so thankful this AM that You brought me out from ... well if I start I won't be able to finish. But You Know! Amen

You’re Special

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 14:2 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.

O-bservation:

These were the words of Moses to the people of Israel not long before he would die and Joshua would lead them into the land of promise. He said, “Of all the people on the planet, You're Special."

A-pplication:

Those of us who are "Followers of Jesus" are part of His Church. We believe that the New Testament Church is the Bride of Christ, and that all of the promises given to Israel in the Old Testament are given to the Church in the New Testament. The Church is made up of millions of people like YOU and ME. So in effect, Jesus is speaking to individual people today and He's saying, "I know that people have said evil things about you. I know that the enemy of your soul is always trying to destroy your faith and will to press on. I also know that you have faced many personal trials that made you question if you should even go on. That's why I want you to know, with all of MY heart, You're Special!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, There is never a doubt in my mind, ever, saying that You aren't in my corner or You don't love me! I'm thankful for a Savior who is always on my side. Amen

He Got Me The Money

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 8:18a But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.

O-bservation:

Moses was reminding the people of Israel of all the great things God had done for them. He told them, “Don't ever think that it was on account of your brilliance that you have prospered, because it was only by God's grace you have been prospered. He Got You The Money."

A-pplication:

I have names in my head right now of friends of mine who many years ago were humble folks, and because of the Lord's blessing on their lives they became very prosperous. As time has gone by, they went from, "The Lord helped me and we were able to buy a piece of property," or "Because of the Lord’s blessing I was able to double my money on that deal," to a far different response. What they say now is, "I did this and I did that." God is never mentioned. You'd think they are brighter than the richest people in history. What happened? They forgot that it was God all along. Never forget that when your blessing comes, the only proper response should be, "He Got Me The Money!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I know this AM that every good and perfect gift comes from You. Thank You for Your blessings in my life! Amen

Honor

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

O-bservation:

This is the first command given by God, and He included a promise attached to it. The Lord said "Honor your father and mother and I'll give you a long life and bless you where you live."

A-pplication:

God never said your parents will always be good to you. I'm thankful that mine were, but so many have had parents who treated them unjustly. Still ... none of that is mentioned. The command is to "HONOR," no matter what. The person who can find it in their heart and will to "Honor" their Father and Mother will be the person who is able to "Honor" everyone they meet. When you are a person who lives with, and by, and for the purpose of "Honor," people make way for you. You're invited into places others never enter. Those who honor people have a better way of approaching crisis, consequently their stress levels are seldom maximized, giving them better health. In time, the person of "Honor" lives longer and has friends wherever they go. That's basically what God promised to the person of "Honor."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Help me be a person of HONOR, today and every day. Amen

The Right Fear

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 2:25 This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.

O-bservation:

These were the words of the Lord to Moses, as he was nearing the end of forty years in the wilderness. God said “You're going to finish strong because I will cause all nations on the earth to fear you at the mention of your name.”

A-pplication:

If there was ever a story of "The Right Fear," this is it. God told Moses as they were approaching the land of Canaan, "I'm going to put such an unusual fear on your enemies at the mere mention of your name.” Certainly God held true to His promise. I believe that it's time to pray, to worship, and to intercede as never before. God’s favor is on His church right now. This is no time to step back in fear. No! It's time rather to press into God. If we'll do everything we can do, then Jesus will do everything HE can do. My friend, it's time to pray for "The Right Fear" to be placed onto the lives of those who reject the message of salvation. Not so they will perish, but so they will stay out of our way, so we can finish the job and in so doing change their minds.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I'm praying for "The Right Fear" this AM. Amen
