Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Job 34:10
So listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do evil, from the Almighty to do wrong.
O-bservation:
This word was spoken by one of Job’s friends, but it could have been said by every man and woman mentioned in the Bible. The statement is made to people who believe they have understanding. “It is impossible for God to do evil or wrong of any kind.”
A-pplication:
Why is this statement FACTUAL? First of all, some of the arguments to the statement go somewhat like this … “How could a loving God allow suffering and disease and sexual abuse of children and genocide in certain places on earth? How could a God who loves people tell His leaders in the Old Testament when facing certain enemies to kill them all (i.e. Num. 25:4). The answer to these and a myriad of other such arguments is simply because … He Is “THE” Sovereign God. But … He’s not “SOVEREIGN” like an earthly monarch or Caesar or a demagogue of any sort. No! He is “SOVEREIGN” as seen in the Hubble Space Telescope’s discoveries of the galaxy. He is “SOVEREIGN” in His origination of the Human Cell! That kind of “SOVEREIGN” is always right, and if He says He cannot be ACCUSED of wrong then He’s right. It starts with we people of “Understanding” yielding to our God. For … “He Is ‘THE’ Sovereign God!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I am thankful that You are my SOVEREIGN God! That’s why I know it will be a great day! Amen
