Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 100:1
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
O-bservation:
The Hebrew rendering of the word “earth” in this passage is “inhabitants.” In other words, even though Jesus said if we don’t praise Him the rocks will, it’s still God’s desire and God’s directive that every human being on the earth would give a shout of joy to God Almighty. More often than not.
A-pplication:
There’s a simple question at the top of this page that says, “Do You Shout?” A lot of folks are quiet and reclusive, but in the most alarming of times I’m sure most people shout. Even if there may be those who never shout ever, we’re still commanded in this passage of scripture to “Shout for joy unto the Lord!” When I got married I shouted. When each of my four sons was born I shouted. When I was called to preach I shouted. When my boys played sports I shouted for them. Sometimes I shouted at my boys when they were on the wrong path. I always shout at games. I even love to shout in church. It’s easy for me to shout to the Lord … He’s my EVERYTHING! If I can shout for everything else, surely I can shout for Jesus. He’s the one who gave me my “SHOUTER” to begin with. But maybe you’re not much of a shouter. That’s OK. Some people’s personality just won’t allow for shouting. So when I ask “Do You Shout?” you would probably say “Only when I have to.” Well … Now’s a good time … Right now, just give a loud “HEY!” for Jesus! Ha ha ha, now you’ve got their attention!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I don’t ever want to stop SHOUTING for joy to YOU! I’m thrilled to be on Your team this AM. Thank You for Your goodness in my life! One more time for You! HEY! Amen
