R U Kidding Me?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezra 1:2

This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: the Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.

O-bservation:

“Cyrus the Great” is recognized by the Jewish people of old as a “Deliverer of Israel.” The Prophet Ezra recounts the story of how Cyrus felt like the Lord had commissioned him to send the Jewish people living in Babylon back to Judah if they wished to go. It was because he felt like the Lord had told him to rebuild the Jewish temple.

A-pplication:

“R U Kidding Me?” Cyrus was the head of Iran and it was he who ended the Iraqi captivity of the Jewish people in Babylon. Can you imagine the “Supreme Leader of Iran” today saying that he felt God had spoken to him and told him to help the Jewish people rebuild their temple in Jerusalem? “R U Kidding Me?” The truth is that our God, the “Maker of Heaven and Earth,” is the “Supreme Leader of All Humankind.” Solomon said, “In the Lords hand the Kings heart is a stream of water” (Prov. 21:1a). Really, you can trust Jesus to handle your challenge today. You may be thinking, I don’t know if God really understands my problem. “R U Kidding Me?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m so thankful today that I can trust You with the largest and most miniscule of my present day issues. “U R Awesome” and … “I’m Not Kidding.” Amen
