PRAISE BREAK

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 35:18

I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you.

O-bservation:

For the most part, Psalm 35 is a deep cry from King David’s heart to God. He appeals to his Heavenly Father to step up on his behalf against his oppressors from verses 1-17 and from verse 19 to the end of the chapter. However, in this one verse, verse 18, David stops the crying in order to Praise and Thank the Lord. He not only does this in Church but also in the Marketplace.

A-pplication:

“Followers of Jesus” are not unlike everyone else on the planet. Every person alive has a continual series of challenges that has to do with the “Fall of Man” in the “Garden of Eden.” What makes us different from the rest of the human race is that we have spiritual weapons we can employ should we choose to use them. Two of those weapons are mentioned here. They are: GRATITUDE and PRAISE. In the middle of every evil force David was facing, he stopped. It’s like he took a “Praise Break.” The words of this verse seem so Out Of Place in the context of the whole chapter. Yet, this chapter typifies our very existence today. At every point, we are desperate for Our Father’s intervention. So don’t forget to … “Stop And Praise Him.” In fact, now would be a great time for a “PRAISE BREAK!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I just have two things to say this AM. Thank You and Praise You!! Amen
