Poor And Needy

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 25:4

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall.

O-bservation:

For the duration of this chapter, the Prophet Isaiah gives Praise to the Lord. He’s especially thankful to God for His loving care for the “Poor And Needy.” He states that in their hour of distress, God is … “Someone To Run To.”

A-pplication:

I’ve often stated in these “AM S.O.A.P. Devo’s” that we are all “Poor And Needy” in comparison to Jesus. We can’t seem to match His Grace extended in our direction. We can’t pay enough or save enough in relationship to Jesus. In light of His Grace lavished upon us, we are “Poor And Needy.” The challenge for all of us is to accept His Grace. Too often we approach God in our own human understanding, with an “I’ve Got This” kind of attitude. In time we all need a refuge in our Distress, a shelter from the Storm and a shade from the Heat. The truth is … “We’ve Got Nothing!” We’re just “Poor And Needy.” Jesus is … “Someone to Run To.” Make sure you start the day running to Jesus.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I acknowledge that I am “Poor And Needy.” With Your help I will start and finish my day … “Running To YOU!” Amen
