People Do Change

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 28:6
The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
O-bservation:
St. Paul was on the final trip of his ministry. The ship he was on had gotten caught up in a terrible storm. The ship broke apart, but everyone on board survived and washed up on the shore of the island known as Malta. The people were kind to the shipwrecked victims. It was cold, and Paul gathered some wood for the fire. When he did, a viper lunged from the woodpile and bit Paul, and The Apostle shook it off into the fire. The people assumed he would die, but when he didn’t, they believed him to be a god.
A-pplication:
This story proves that “People Do Change.” Think about it. Initially, when the islanders saw the snake latch onto Paul’s arm, they immediately thought Paul must be a murderer because even though he had escaped the storm in the sea, now the gods had taken him down with a viper. When the venomous snake’s poison failed to kill Paul, the people changed. They then believed him to be a “god.” Perhaps you’re in a tough position with an individual. Call it an impasse or just impossible, either way: pray. When Jesus steps in on your behalf, the door will open wide. Then, just like Paul, you will see “People Do Change.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With Your help today, I will keep my eyes on You. You never fail. And if people get in my way, I know that You have a wonderful way of helping all of us Change. Amen
