An Open Heart Policy

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Romans 15:7

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

O-bservation:

The Apostle Paul was a “Missionary Apostle.” His entrepreneurial approach launched the Christian Church in his, then known, world. St. Paul had “An Open Heart Policy” to everyone he came in contact with. He wasn’t a judge, a condemner, or an accuser. Instead he operated in the same dimension Jesus did. He loved, forgave, and accepted others who were not like him. In this passage, he stated that we should accept others just as Jesus did, and in return people will give God praise.

A-pplication:

Nothing repels people’s praise away from “The Almighty” more than when so called “Jesus Followers” live in judgment, accusation, and condemnation of others. We have this mandate from the “Great Apostle” that there is only one way to approach people, and that is to love, forgive, and accept them. That is the way of our Lord. This cannot be accomplished through sheer logic and will. That approach comes from the head only and is rarely compelling. Instead, we must approach people with “An Open Heart Policy.” The HEART is where Love and Warmth are emoted from. Yes, indeed, it is HERE that actions speak louder than words. So then, LIVE … with “An Open Heart Policy!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM You know that it is difficult for me to feel love for everyone I meet. And yet You have called me to accept ALL people the way You accept them. With Your help, I will OPEN my HEART to all I meet. Amen
