Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Ephesians 5:10
And find out what pleases the Lord.
O-bservation:
Perhaps no one in the New Testament wanted to please the Lord more than the Apostle Paul. While teaching the young Christians in Ephesus by way of letter, he encouraged them to find out what pleases Jesus.
A-pplication:
As a young man dating my future wife-to-be, Robyn, I made it a point to list the things that made her happy. Through the years, I’ve tried to do the things that please her the most. However, even though I know what pleases her I sometimes do the very thing that displeases her. Isn’t that true of our relationship with Jesus? Most of us “Jesus People” know what pleases the Lord, and we fail anyway! St. Paul said, “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do!” (Rom. 7:15). He is the very one telling us to find out what pleases the Lord. I think that’s an important point, because the man who gives us the admonishment is just like us. Trying to do the RIGHT thing. The best you can do today is find what pleases the Lord. “Once You Find It, Do It!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I approach this day ONLY BY YOUR GRACE. Amen
