OFFERINGS

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Numbers 7:10

When the altar was anointed, the leaders brought their offerings for its dedication and presented them before the altar.

O-bservation:

After the Tabernacle in the wilderness was completed, Moses anointed everything connected to it and finished by anointing the altar. After the altar was anointed, a leader from each of the twelve tribes of Israel brought a significant offering, one after another, for twelve consecutive days.

A-pplication:

The altar in the Old Testament represented the meeting place with God. For the rest of Israel’s Spiritual history, it was all about bringing offerings to the Lord. It was God’s way of demanding that He be first in their lives. Today, whenever we balk at Christian leadership reminding us to give offerings, we are in effect “pushing back” on Jesus being first in our lives. Matthew 6:33 tells us to, “Seek FIRST His kingdom, everything else you need will be given to you.” Always remember, initially our “OFFERINGS” signal to Jesus where our heart is.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Help me never run from you when it comes to “OFFERINGS!” Amen
