Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 2:5

His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

O-bservation:

There was a wedding at Cana, and at the wedding, the hosts ran out of wine. Mary, Jesus’ mother, said to him, “They have run out of wine.” Based on His response, it’s apparent that Mary wanted her son to do something about it. Jesus appeared to be perturbed and said, “My time has not yet come!” But Mary said to the attendants nearby, “Just Do What He Says.”

A-pplication:

There must have been some smiles exchanged between mother and son because Jesus immediately acted and turned water into wine. The guests were so amazed at how good the wine was that they questioned the host why they had saved the best until last. However, that’s not the point I want to make. Even though Jesus had appeared to disagree with His mother, he immediately acted. That means He determined in a matter of moments that now was the time for Him to begin His public ministry. What would have happened if the attendants at the wedding had blown Jesus off? What if they would have said, “We’re not going to fill the pots with water because people are asking for wine?” What if they had ignored the Lord’s directive? That leaves me with one more question. What is it that Jesus has directed you to do that you have ignored? What you have put off could actually be the key that unlocks the door to your miracle. Why not Just Do What He Says?

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m ready to do whatever it is that you’re asking me to do. I don’t want to assume that I’m just hearing things. Seriously I’m ready to Just Do What You Say. Amen
