Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Leviticus 9:23
Moses and Aaron then went into the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.
O-bservation:
This chapter is filled with the beautiful story of the four sons of Aaron being ordained and released into the service of the priesthood. How proud Aaron must have been of his sons, and Uncle Moses as well. Moses and Aaron then went into the “tent of meeting” and upon exiting the tent they blessed the people. The “Glory of the Lord” appeared to all of the people. The people got so excited they jumped for joy and fell down and worshiped the Lord!
A-pplication:
What a day this must have been! This is a story of EVERYTHING going great on one day, in the service of the Lord. In the case of Aaron (the father), and Moses (the uncle), their four sons/nephews were ordained into the priesthood, assuring a legacy to the next generation of Israelites. Then Moses and Aaron, after spending time in the presence of the Lord, BLESSED all the people. Then ALL the people responded with unspeakable joy! Perhaps you have found yourself most recently caught up in a spell of tough “Servant Leadership.” Almost nothing has gone right but you just keep on serving. Here’s what I’ve learned. My “lows” are always an indication that my “highs” are just around the corner. Jesus’ brother James said, “Count It All Joy!” (James 1:2a). “The JOY of Ministry,” is always our service unto JESUS.
P-rayer:
I’m so thankful this AM that You let me experience “The JOY of Ministry!” In the good times and in the tough times I will continue to … “Count It All Joy.” Amen
