I Have A Bad Knee
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Corinthians 12:26
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
O-bservation:
In this passage of scripture, St. Paul discussed the parallels between the human body and the Body of Christ. He said that when one member of the body suffers, the whole body suffers with them, and when one member of the body is honored, we all rejoice with them. Which reminds me, “I Have A Bad Knee.”
A-pplication:
When I was a junior in high school, I injured my knee during football practice. I had surgery a few weeks later, which in time led to four surgeries, the last being a knee replacement. When I recovered, my entire body felt like a young adult! I’m serious. But by that time, my right knee had begun to give way because of me favoring the other knee for decades. Now it’s like the other one used to be. I can be walking up the stairs and fall because the knee gives way. God willing, I’ll have a knee replacement soon. I know some churches keep tripping on the stairs because of just one person who has a problem. On the other hand, I can go for days, and my knee is just great! When that happens, my whole body is HAPPY and REJOICING! Then one slip and boom, I’m down again. Make sure you take care of your church family. You don’t want hundreds of people laid up because of one bad knee.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I love my church family. As I reminisce this AM, I’m so grateful for years and years of friends and happy rejoicing. Even the “bad knees” have worked out through the years as we’ve all pulled together to help. Thank You for helping us stay united in love. Amen
