How and What Shall I Do?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Corinthians 16:13,14

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.

O-bservation:

In these two short verses, “Paul the Apostle” laid out a plan for the young church at Corinth, one that certainly applies to us today. He said, I want you to be on guard. In other words the enemy of your soul will do everything possible to tear you down. I also want you to stand firm in your faith. Don’t waver and appear unconvinced. Also, you must be courageous. And finally I want you to be strong. Because weakness never won the day. And everything you do must be done in love.

A-pplication:

This charge, given by the Apostle over 2,000 years ago, sounds like an “Internet Media Blast” from heaven to “Followers of Jesus” the world over. Modernity, secularism, and situational ethics are just the latest faddish terms for: man is God and God isn’t! The present battle that we, the people of God, are facing cannot be won with guns. This is not a political or ideological battle we are engaged in right now. No! As always it’s a spiritual battle between the forces of heaven and hell. Heaven’s warriors (you and me) must be on guard. We must stand firm in our faith. We must be courageous in the face of certain conflict, and stay strong through the power of the precious Holy Spirit. And “HOW” do we do all of this? We do this in Love.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I am aware this AM my Lord, that the battle lines have been drawn. And our goal is victory at all personal cost. Help me win with love. Amen
