Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 11:13
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
O-bservation:
In speaking with His disciples one day, Jesus was explaining the Father’s desire to care for His children. He said, “If you as sinners know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
A-pplication:
Whenever I read this passage, I always think concerning our great God, “He’s A Good, Good Father!” When I think how much I love my family, and then I consider all the Lord has done for me and how much He obviously loves me, all I can think to say is, “He’s A Good, Good Father!” There have been so many times when I failed Him miserably and sinned and fallen flat on my arrogant face, yet somehow He has picked me up and helped me get back on my feet, and that line rolls through my brain, “He’s A Good, Good Father!” When my own father slowly passed from this life into the next, my heart broke as I thought of his unending love and support of my life. Yet on the day I heard the news, I looked up to heaven and said to my Heavenly Father, “You’re A Good, Good Father!” Sometimes the dad we get on this side of heaven is not one to make us look fondly upon the word father at all. However, no matter what wonderful or lousy model you had growing up, you must never doubt your heavenly Father’s love. He’s here today, He’ll be here tomorrow and every day forever. He’ll never leave us. “He’s A Good, Good Father!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m so thankful for You. When my earthly father went to heaven, the security I have is that I have always had You and always will. I’m grateful for You today. “You’re A Good, Good Father!” Amen
